The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “At dusk — or when you reach the evening — keep your children close, for the devils spread out then. Once some of the night has passed, let them go. Close the doors, mentioning the name of Allah, for Satan does not open a closed door; tie up your waterskins, mentioning the name of Allah; cover your vessels, mentioning the name of Allah, even if only by laying something across them; and put out your lamps.”
